Highlights of 2000:

February 2: OVC, USA – Sanguinarius unveils the Vampiric Community Calendar on her web resource. The “Vampire Support Page” part of Sanguinarius moved onto the sanguinarius.org domain during the same month.

February 22: USA – A prosecutor urges state lawmakers to pass a bill aimed at people like Phillip K. Buck, the so-called “Sheboygan County vampire” who invited teenagers to parties at his home, encouraged them to slash themselves and then sucked their blood. “This case was called the ‘vampire case,” Sheboygan County District Attorney Bob Wells tells the Senate Judiciary and Consumer Affairs Committee. “He wasn’t a vampire. He was a pervert.”

March: OVC, USA – Sanguinarius creates “Blood Letters: Donor Support Board” at Server.com.

August 13: OVC, USA – Sanguinarius moves the Vam-Personals page to ezBoard.

Formation of “Amorteus Nocturne” (meaning “In love with death in the night”), primarily a studio-project band in the electronically composed atmospheric darkness genre. Amorteus Nocturne produces material since early 2000. The group is known for its musically hybrid productions ranging from classical, horror movie & video game soundtracks, industrial, techno, new age, black metal, darkwave, ambient and world music influences. 

USA – COVICA, a council of collected elders from different traditions, COVICA is formed and again revises the Black Veil. It is at this time that the Black Veil gains more widespread popularity and is translated into Portuguese, German and Spanish. It is also distributed as the “13 Rules of the Community”

The “MOTHER” night club closes down, but Father Sebastian Todd chooses to continue the event by relocating to “True” nightclub on 23rd Street near Broadway in Manhattan. LBV (Long Black Veil) remains there for two more years.

USA – “The Vampire Codex” is written and published. Authored by occultist and psychic vampire Michelle Belanger, published by Sanguinarium Press, the Vampire Codex has a significant impact on the worldwide community of psychic Vampyres, becoming the fundamental text used by numerous Houses, Orders, Covens, and Clans. It influences the teachings of Vampyre groups throughout the US, Canada, and Western Europe. 

October 13: Cleveland, Ohio, USA – House Kheperu hosts the first Kheprian Open House over October 13-15.

October 26: New York, USA – Two teenagers face charges of attempted murder for trying to kill the father of a teenage girl one of them was dating. The girl, 15-year-old Malikah Kelly, is arrested at her father’s Flushing, Queens apartment for allegedly plotting his murder. Her father didn’t approve of of her boyfriend, Desmond Figueroa, 17, police said. Figueroa and Jared Fisher, 24, both of Brooklyn, are charged with allegedly trying to kill Maurice Kelly, 48, by stabbing him in the neck as he opened his front door. The suspects tell police they are members of something called the “O’Mallie Vampire Cult”, but investigators suggest it is mostly a product of the suspects’ imaginations. Fisher lives in a dark and eerie Gothic-like apartment in Canarsie, which cops find decorated with spooky artifacts including a cushioned pine coffin-bed and sets of porcelain vampire teeth.
